Desert Storm

DLM_012

While I was not able to do a log, I have the finished results now that my LED strip came in the mail today. Forgive the quality of the pictures since they are taken with my Nexus 4. All of the cables you see have been sleeved by me. This is my first go at cable sleeving so if you see any imperfections, just bear in mind that I tried haha. If I was to sleeve a PSU again, the results would be far more consistent.

You should give this a go. It would make your wires look so much better.

I honestly won't be putting any more work into my PC until 2014 lol. My wallet and energy is drained from this past project.

I like the brown accents on the sleeving and RAM. Maybe this could be a build where Noctua fans really look good in :D
As mentioned by Morfy, I have one NF-F12 in my Coolermaster V8. I was thinking about putting some 140mm Noctuas in there at the top but the particular fans that I want are 3 pin, not PWM :/ If the P14's had a PWM variant, I would have connected those to a splitter and attached it to one of my motherboard headers. For the rear exhuast, I was really thinking about installing a NF-F12 or a S12 in there but decided against it. The fan you currently see is a GEILD Silent fan. PWM, high quality construction, etc...

When I do my custom loop in 2014, there will be Noctua fans everywhere so don't worry lol.

Thanks again for the compliment :)

Nice build' date=' he actually has a Noctua, but it's not visible[/quote']Good eye you have there. I didn't like the LED and cabling on the stock fan in the V8 so I bought a NF-F12 from my local Microcenter. I sleeved the fan cable and the other included adapters. I wish I could embed the slideshow but here's the finished result below. I have other pics of the process if you guys are interested..

Quality sleeving right there' date=' MDPC, am i right?[/quote']Yup. The light color is Vanilla sands and the green color is Commando Green. I was the first official order when he first introduced the color to his online store :D

By the way, the stuff is so easy to sleeve with. Cut it evenly with some snips, burn the edges with a lighter, stretch the sleeving over the wire, then heatshrink them.

Hehe, nice of you to share, but i have quite some experience with sleeving, with all sorts of it, too bad here in Romania they are soo f. expensive.

if you really want some "desert feel" you might want to change your led strip to a rgb led strip and add some yellowish light to it

I pretty much crapped my pants when my build was mentioned in the live stream lol. Thanks guys!

The sleeving will be far better next time (first sleeving project) I get around to sleeving another PSU and I'll look into tidying up the cables.

*goes back to doing homework at 1AM*

I'll post a pic of my original build in here sometime soon so you guys can see what I started with.

EDIT: I also forgot to post specs of PC:

FX-8350 @ stock frequency

Coolermaster V8 (with Noctua NF-F12 fan)

Sabertooth 990FX motherboard

16GB (4 X 4GB) Corsair Vengeance RAM

MSI 7950 (has a 7970 PCB)

512GB Samsung 840 series SSD

Western Digital 1TB Caviar Green HDD

Seasonic X650 PSU

Tried editing my original post but to no avail. At any rate, this is what I started with:

Hmm' date=' a V8 with a Noctura fan? What temps are you getting with that?[/quote']My FX is at stock so I get around 35-39C idle (browsing the net with a few tabs open) and under P95 load probably 65C. The cooling isn't impressive at all. I didn't realize that my 8350 would run so hot at stock clock speed.

^ 35-39 isn't really that hot. Mine run from 35-45 depending on room temp on idel and it uses a H100 for cooling.

Nice. The re-sleeved LNA adapter looks much better than a stock one. I already had plans to do the same once my 2nd fan and the new case actually got here, so it's nice to see what it can look like when done right.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.
