i have the home server on an acer easystore with 2 HD, one 1TB and one 260GB. I recently had the main drive start flashing purple while the other one I added to top bay was a solid blue. I just copied over 3GB to the server and main drive started flashing purple. Looked up in manual and it states that a drive that is not yet added will flash like this. I let it go for over 4 hours and in that time checked the taskmgr and didn't see anything that raised alarm. Restarted the server and all has been normal.
Did you use any AV software on server?
