I recently had the main drive start flashing purple while the other one I added to top bay was a solid blue. I just copied over 3GB to the server and main drive started flashing purple. Looked up in manual and it states that a drive that is not yet added will flash like this. I let it go for over 4 hours and in that time checked the taskmgr and didn't see anything that raised alarm.
