Yeah I rigged up my test benches with dual GTX 590s to remove any and all video card bottlenecks (in theory, but instead I just introduced driver limitation bottlenecks). There’s always so much debate about this, so I took two similarly priced CPUs and put them head to head in games!

ncix.com Republic of Gamers series boards have come a long way from the expensive Striker Extreme. Now you can get the most extreme ASUS AMD motherboard for only a couple hundred bucks. Gotta love progress :)

www.ncix.com This board is designed purely for overclocking. No extra fluff, just performance.

www.ncix.com The Z68 chipset performs the same as the P67 chipset in most respects, but brings a couple of unique features to the table including SSD caching and integrated GPU accelerated video encoding.

www.ncix.com Gigabyte has unleashed a line up of Z68 products that feature Intel’s new caching technology as well as support for Intel’s video transcoding engine built into second generation Core i3/i5/i7 processors.

Today I take a look at quad SLI versus quad CrossfireX with the latest dual GPU cards from NVIDIA and AMD. Have a look at the scaling they are able to achieve at 2560×1600!

www.ncix.com Fully featured and capable of supporting up to 3-way SLI and CrossfireX. This board is designed for overclocking.

I use dual GTX 580s to test the performance difference caused by reducing the PCIe bandwidth. In the next little while I guess I’ll do another round of testing with a high end dual GPU card such as a GTX 590 or HD 6990 and test 4x/8x/16x to see how much difference there is.

www.ncix.com By POPULAR demand, here is the Rampage III Extreme Black Edition from ASUS. It includes Xonar sound, an Bigfoot Networks Killer NIC networking!
