Cooler Master V8 Heatpipe CPU Heatsink Unboxing & First Look

Posted by: Linus on 31st December 2009

Cooler Master has been perennial contender for the “top dawg” award in CPU heatsinks for as long as I can remember. The V8 is another “by request” unboxing, and I have to confess I know nothing about its performance, but I’m very impressed by the overall fit & finish of this unit, as well as the appearance. Cooler Master really put those finishing touches on it to set it apart from the crowd.

Having a look at Noctua’s brand new CPU cooler. Well, it’s not really brand new, but the fan sitting on top of it is quite new. Basically this new cooler is the old NH-C12P, but now it’s got a 140mm fan!!

Having a quick look at the heatpipe cooler that’s dominating the charts right now. Still getting the hang of my new high def camera, but image quality seems better than the last one.

I’ve heard a lot about this thing and I wanted to see it in person. That’s pretty much it.

Noctua NH-U12P SE2 Core i5/i7 CPU Heatpipe Cooler Unboxing

I’m anticipating this will be one of the “must have” Core i5/i7 or LGA1156 (whatever you want to call it) upgrades. This new “special edition 2″ version of the popular NH-U12P includes 2 fans, much like the regular “SE” model, but it includes another important features: LGA775/1156/1366 compatibility. The mounting system is quite clever as you’ll see in the video, and I suspect that Noctua has a winner on their hands.
