The Core i3 and Core i5 dual cores also feature high clock speeds for great performance in single threaded or dual threaded applications. Don’t forget these CPUs have onboard video now too!! OCZ Agility SSD 30GB Solid State Drive Unboxing & First Look Linus Tech TipsPosted by: Linus on 22nd January 2010Having a look at the Agility SSD drive from OCZ. The biggest difference between the Agility series and the Vertex series is the sustained read/write performance. If you watched the video you’d know that… And all of the other stuff that I say in the video! :p Gigabyte H55M-S2H H55 Core i3 LGA1156 DDR3 Motherboard Unboxing & First Look Linus Tech TipsPosted by: Linus on 22nd January 2010Having a look at my first H55 board. This is quite a basic one and cuts off a lot of the “unnecessary” features, but even some that I would consider necessary like 4 DIMM slots. That’s the price you pay with a basic board, but despite lacking in features, this H55 board has all of the performance of its big brother. Powercolor Radeon HD 5750 1GB DirectX 11 Video Card Unboxing & First Look Linus Tech TipsPosted by: Linus on 19th January 2010Another piece of my mum’s new PC. I went with this card because the performance per dollar is quite respectable (although not quite as good as the last generation high end cards like the 4850), and it has the latest feature set. That means that it’s got DX11, and it also supports stuff like 7.1 audio over HDMI, meaning I can move it to their media center when it gets too slow for Sims X. Intel X25-V 40GB SSD Solid State Hard Drive Unboxing & First Look Linus Tech TipsPosted by: Linus on 19th January 2010Today I have a look at the Intel X25-V. This is a very interesting drive because while it sacrifices a lot of the sequential read/write performance of the X25-M, it actually uses the same controller, so the random read/write performance is nearly identical. Since that’s what makes most of the difference in real world performance, this drive should be a GREAT performer for the dollar. OCZ StealthXStream 500W Quiet Power Supply Unboxing & First LookPosted by: Linus on 19th January 2010I know it’s another OCZ power supply unboxing right on the heels of the last one, but that just happens to be what I have on hand at the moment. This one is for my mum’s new PC. She’s been doing a lot of work at home and her laptop can’t do it anymore, so I put together a nice little machine for her and I thought this 500W SXS would be a great addition to it. OCZ Z-Series 850W 80+ Gold Power Supply Unboxing & First LookPosted by: Linus on 18th January 2010Got an opportunity to take a look at a new addition to the Z-Series from OCZ. This is just like the other Z-Series units in that it’s very efficient, but it looks to cut costs for users who don’t care about a modular interface. Good value to be had here EK Supreme HF Extreme Performance CPU Water Block Unboxing & First LookPosted by: Linus on 13th January 2010Yet another water cooling unboxing. EK is giving me an opportunity to have a look at their new version of the Supreme: The Supreme HF. HF stands for high flow and as far as I can tell it also stands for “shiny and sexy” because this thing looks AWESOME! CES 2010 OCZ Suite SSD Tour Including Z-Drive P88Posted by: Linus on 11th January 2010While I was at CES I had a chance to visit the OCZ suite and check out all of their cool SSD products including the classic Vertex, Aglity, and Colossus products as well as some really cool new stuff including Vertex 2, Solid 2, and the Z-Drive P88! Microsoft Reclusa Gaming Keyboard Unboxing & First LookPosted by: Linus on 5th January 2010Having a quick look at the “powered by Razer” Microsoft Reclusa gaming keyboard. I had a look at the X6 recently, and while it’s hard to say which I like more, the Reclusa does have some cool features. |
